When I was going across some old papers I saw a skit that me and my friends made. We were learning more about the horrors oceans face. We wrote this script to get people more aware of how humans effect the environment.
Here it is...
Bennett: Hello I'm Bennet, I live on Easter Street near Delectable Donuts! When I'm older I'm going to be a songwriter and a famous singer. These are my friends Madelyn and Abigail. Together we formed the "cleanup committee". It was Madelyn's idea.
Madelyn: There are between 4.8 and 12.7 million tons of plastic entering the ocean each year. Soon there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean waters.
Abigail: Oh no, we need to stop this pollution.
Bennet: But How?
Madelyn: According to research, 100,000 animals are killed by plastic each year.
Abigail: We need to make people more aware of how much plastic affects the ocean and the marine life.
Bennett: And we could raise money to give to ocean cleanups.
Madelyn: Like a fundraiser, I can look up what charities receive donations for the ocean cleanup.
Abigail: We should be called the...the ocean marine cleanup committee.
Bennett: The cleanup committee for short. Let's make signs and boxes for our fundraiser!
Work on sign
Bennett: Here are the seven ways you can make a difference.
1). Reduce your use of single-use plastics.
2). Recycle properly.
3). Participate in (or organize) a beach or river cleanup.
4). Support bans.
5). Avoid product containing micro beads.
6). Spread the word
7). Support organizations addressing plastic pollution
Madelyn: This is a great way to make people aware of their waste and affect on the ocean.
Abigail: So as you walk out today we hope you will be more aware of how much plastic you use and reduce more.
Madelyn: You can always help by picking up a piece of trash from the ground and you could even make sculptures or eco art out of your waste.
Bennett: And always you can just make people more aware of the affect on the ocean plastic is causing.
All: We hope you all become the cleanup committee with use.

Thank you for reading our skit. We really do hope you join us in being the cleanup committee!
